The new trailer!

Hey, our new trailer is here! Well, it’s really an old trailer new to us. It’s 11 years old and in virtually mint condition. Our daughter Deb came from California for a few days to help us get settled. (Daughter Kat and Granddaughter Renee are coming in about a month to help with the final fixin’ up.) You'll see Deb in action in the next edition.

This is what the trailer looked like assembled and sitting on its former site in the SKP park.

We contracted with Dave of AZ RV and Manufactured Home Repair to dismantle the trailer and transfer it to our lot.

First he attacked the awning.

The vinyl skirting was next.

Next, Dave delivered the skirting and the awning parts to our site.

And stacked them beside the casita.

With the big stuff out of the way, then it was all the smaller, less exciting but more vital parts:
The tires had all been flattened at the former site. This is a no-no in our park, as the trailer has to be technically movable in case of emergency. Dave had to take a couple of the tires away to be remounted and inflated.

Electric, water and sewer hookups, as well as the air conditioner / furnace combination.

Here's the "naked trailer" sitting on the old site, just about ready to move.

Remember all that bedding we told you last time was in the driver’s seat of our motorhome when I had to crawl in the driver’s door? It’s on the bed and looking sharp, even in the old site!

We'll show you more in the next edition of ... Our Life on Wheels.

  6. Never thought about the logistics of dismantling a trailer once it has been in place for a while but obviously it is quite do-able. Looking forward to seeing the next edition and pictures.
