Where are the Dixons? And Diana Reeve as well?

Where are they? Well, the Dixons and Diana Reeve are alive and well in Benson, Arizona, at the SKP Saguaro RV Park!

We know that, because they came and visited with us this afternoon, and we all went out to dinner afterward.
Here's Sandie and Jim
We've followed Jim and Sandie's blog for quite a while -- you can see it at Where are the Dixons? -- and they've followed ours, but this is the first time we'd ever howdied and hugged. (Hugging is what Escapees do instead of shaking hands, in case you were wondering.) And they brought along their friend, RVing newbie Diana Reeve.

Now, we have met some fine people in our lives, and these folks rank right up there with the best of them. From the very first, we seemed like old friends with Jim and Sandie. Diana is in the clutches of a brand new RV, trying to learn the ropes while the new RV is showing that it doesn't want to be tamed. We're sure she's going to win, though, as she's a determined lady!

The three of them are here for only a week or so, and are chewing up all the great tourist spots in Cochise County: Kartchner Caverns, Tombstone, Bisbee, Chiricahua National Monument. They're even going out to Gammons Gulch, about which we posted (Gammons Gulch) in January, four years ago.

We had started the happy hour at 4:30; our friends Kirby and Vonnie Wilson stopped by at about 6:00, and the party really livened up. Kirby and Vonnie needed to get on home with their dogs about 7:00, and the rest of us left for dinner at the Horseshoe Cafe down in town.

Dinner was excellent, and made more so by our waitress, Gina, who took this picture for us.

Gina turned out to be a real hambone, but we weren't smart enough to get her picture. She kept us in stitches all through the evening. As the party wound down, Gina told us she and her husband had one child of their own, had adopted two, and were foster parents to 35 children with special needs, HIV babies, and so on! During one period, they had 15 kids at home. There are currently only two, ages two and five, living with them. These folks have a special place in heaven waiting for them We'll see them there when we have finished ... Our Life on Wheels!
