We hit the road at 10:00 am, traveled 120 miles to Casa Grande, AZ.We usually drive a short day the first day, and this was it. When we've stopped here before, we would stay at Desert Shadows, a membership park, part of Western Horizon, and open to AOR (Adventure Outdoors Resorts) members, of which we are one. I was never overly fond of the place, but we could get in for $12 a night, and that pleased the Treasurer.
We're here again, but there are new owners, no more Desert Shadows, no more Western Horizons. and a wonderful new look. The new owners, under the name of Casa Grande RV Resort, have spruced the place up, cut down on the rules, and have kept the rates low. We got in for $15 because they are honoring the AOR commitments. We have a full hookup pull thru site with 30/50 electric. The two pools and hot tub are available 24 hours a day. Wifi is free. Take a look at their
WEBSITE to see more about this place.

We had the pool area to ourselves at 8:30 tonight. |
Suzy reported no problems driving today, even though she only got three hours of sleep last night. She woke up in the middle of the night and her brain turned on. She got up, tried to get some work done on the computer I'm using right now, and had to fight with the machine for hours just to pay a bill!
This evening we met up with friends from nearby, Carole and Emerson. Carol recently had the same bariatic surgery that Suzy had, with the same surgeon. So far she has lost about 75 pounds, and is looking great. The four of us had dinner at Olive Garden

These two ladies have lost a total of about 210 pounds! |
Tomorrow we head out to the metropolis of Wikieup, AZ, about 180 miles away, to stay in the only RV park in town, a $10 Passport America park. Maybe we'll find something there to take a picture of!
Hooray for ... Our Life on Wheels!
You go guys! Nothing better than having fun in the Southwest! Whoo hooooo!
ReplyDeleteDid you wave at us as you passed our RV park? Suzy looks real happy in that pool and has a great smile. Have a great trip and enjoy yourselves.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to know you guys are finally headed north. How nice that they are letting you stay for $15. Good price.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to be on the move.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know there's new management at that park in Casa Grande. They've had some really surly managers in the past. Suzy's looking great! It looks like her friend is wearing the same shoes - did they come with the surgery? LOL! Enjoy every day!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are on your way. Sounds like a good first night deal. Suzy and Carole both look terrific.
ReplyDeleteHooray, hooray..finally on our way!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have stayed there as western horizon members. Glad to say that we only had a five year membership, as they ran a really poor operation and sold all the decent parks apparently.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you and Suzy on the road again, Jerry. Glad you found a nice RV park to stay in for your first night! Safe travels.
