That Was Fun!

Saturday's mini-rant post about organic food was fun to write! I had to actually exercise my brain cells a little more than usual. We got a dozen responses right away, from serious to chuckle-worthy, some recognizing the value of organically raised foods, some admitting that a certain amount of chemical treatment (including genetic alteration) was valuable. Even our good friend "Anonymous" chipped in with a reasoned and thorough analysis.

The comment we liked most was from Merikay, who stated, "I WANT my foods to have lots of preservatives. Maybe they will keep me from decaying quite so fast!

Now there's a woman who knows what she wants! If you check out her blog posts for the past few days, you can see what she wants in her soon-to-be RV!

In one our other favorite blogs, Semi-True Tales of Our Life on the Road, Laurie tells us about her 21-year-old granddaughter Carrie and a project she is spearheading. I won't try to go into it here, but I strongly recommend you click on that link and read about Carrie for yourself. Then, if you are so inclined, go on to Carrie's blog (Reading for Uganda) and decide whether you would want to participate.

Sunday was another day spent with family, at least part of the day. Here in Carson City area we have our daughter Kathie, husband Shawn and our grandson Sam, plus granddaughter Renee, husband Adam and their son Darren (our first and so far only great grand). We all got together at Shawn and Kathie's home for grilled burgers (Shawn's) and grilled corn (ours). As a salad, Kathie cut up an ice cold, ripe, sweet, delicious watermelon. Delightful.

When we arrived at their home, Suzy pointed out the large juniper in their front yard; it was loaded with berries, so I reached for my camera and found that I had left it in the motorhome! So no pictures of the day. Sorry! But here's the family.

Today we are off to see the doctor -- Suzy is way overdue for her epidural shot for spinal pain. See you next time along ... Our Life on Wheels!

  1. Suzy, I'm thinking of you! "Way overdue" doesn't sound good.

Jerry, thanks for the link to my niece's blog (Claire, rather than Carrie). I REALLY appreciate it, and I know she does, too. Very thoughtful of you to highlight her effort.

    Safe travels!

  2. I loved reading your blog on organic and the comments. I don't care one way or the other so I didn't comment. Glad you had fun with family but it definitely sounds like time to get Suzy in for that shot.

  5. I ran across an article about how deadly it was this year in Yosemite and there was a photo of the valley there much like yours. At first I thought I had gone to your blog, rather than the article.

In either case, it is a beautiful photo shot.
